New Beginnings

So I figure I need to give a writeup of the happenings in my life just FYI. So I'm working for the County doing Veteran Services as an Administrative Specialist. I like my job for the most part, minus it can have alot of negatively involved, but its ok. On the side, as you can see from the pics, I am into fighting. I mostly just do the boxing/kickboxing classes with a little bit of grappling submission for entertainment, but recently I have started running or should I say jogging to be more accurate:)

Now for the good stuff; my single, maybe dating life. Well nevermind about naming names because that could change daily on a good week and if they read my blog that could be bad. So after an unbelievable long stint of no dating (was trying to get over someone, sort of) but now I am feeling cured and trying to move on and, oh I don't know, maybe get married eventually, still working on that one. There is a possible potential that I am keeping my options open:)

So I have my own apartment, which I love, all the space to myself and its nicely decorated. Last week I bought a Betta fish to keep me company, even though half the time I forget he's even there, but its fun to come home to something living. I usually have his undivided attention which is good. I live across from Intel and sometimes run in the area. Let me say this is my first time living in apartments and I love it. Of course they are really nice and super quiet which gives it the appeal. Most the people who live there are professionals at Intel so its a good group of neighbors, I feel very safe where I live, and its great.

So I figured I would post my fights just so people could see what I am up to in my spare time. This first clip is the 2nd of two fights I did in my very first competition, yeah unprepared and lost. She put me in an armbar, which popped my elbow hurts everytime I see the video. It took a few months before I no longer felt it, still pops sometimes when I'm working out. I left with the 3rd place medal, really awesome exept there were only 3 of us. LOL

This next video is of my second competition a month later, my workout partner Aimee was there to compete this time, we are pretty equal. We were in a draw after the 4 minutes. The other two weren't pretty. I lost both times to choke holds, rather not show you those videos, it was a stressful day but you get the idea. Thought the last lady was going to kill me, she wasn't there for the experience, rather to kill. She is the one in first, had it not been absolute rounds I would have placed 2nd because one of the girls forfeited, but that doesn't count in absolute matches, it's a personal choice to fight. As you can see these fights were not based on weight class, but I did hold my own, mostly even if they were twice my size:) ((working on second clip having technical diffculties))

For the last day of fun on this trip we headed for the Columbia Gorge on the old highway to see the waterfalls, the highlight of the entire trip. The first one I can't remember the name, the second one was Bridal Veil falls, and the third and busiest was Multnomah Falls. Sadly this is were our trip ended and the next day Anna left for the airport back to Idaho. I will say in those couple of days that is the most I've seen of Oregon, and I live here. Took a trip to get out but it was worth it!

Next on our little adventure we saw the Rose Gardens, minus the roses, but there were a few pretty flowers hanging around. We saw only the very start of the Hoyt Arboretum seeing is how I was not dressed for hiking, it felt hot, and hey sometimes I am a baby with tired feet. To ease that we went shopping. I must say that I became Anna's personal shopper. She went home with a new wardrobe and new dress shoes for just over $100. Trust me I know how to shop and at the right price!

That night we went to a Comedy club called Harvey's in Portland with my friend Dane and his friends, I won free tickets. Before we saw the show we ate at this pita place and their Caesar Chicken might be some of the best pita I've ever tasted, I would recommend it. So at the comedy club the acts were terrible and the table we were at had high stools but we stuck out in the waiters traffic area. Let's just say, a waiter tripped over a woman's purse, spilled drinks everywhere and broke a bunch of stuff. Not to mention the waitress was forcing everyone to but at least 2 items, and definitely could work on her people skills. Did I mention that it was raining a flood outside and all of us were drenched, but hey we look excited in the picture. What a day!
