Guns, Food and a Lesson

On Saturday I finally got the opportunity to go shooting at a gun range. It was so much fun and super exciting. Not quite what I expected at first and it took me a bit to get used to all the noise going off. But I got my chance several times to load and shoot a 9mm doing about 64 rounds. Turns out I'm not too bad, and would love the chance to practice and get better.
On another note I went out and got to enjoy dinner at Flemmings a steak house and had amazing pork chops and chipotle mac and cheese. Always nice to eat somewhere with amazingly good food. To make things more fun Jayci works there as a hostess so I got to see her. I also gave the Relief Society lesson today on adversity and did a pretty good job. Too bad ran out of time and I didn't give to give all of it.

Lately there is so much going and I seem to be getting quite a few adrenaline rushes these days. This coming weekend I will be doing the ultimate rush and going sky diving with my friends. Hope I live to tell with an awesome video for proof!

The Arts Continue...

Well I'm apparently trying to keep myself as well-rounded as possible. On Friday I went to a performance held at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. It was a choir called Vocalis made up of LDS men and women from Germany and surrounding countries. They were very good minus it was all in German so I didn't understand the words, but beautiful nonetheless. I went with friends who know German and invited me to get out of the house on a Friday night. Also as a side note Deiter F. Uchtdorf of the First Presidency was present. For me it has been a popular month to see apostles! Got to spend some time walking around Temple Square and took a few pictures. Afterwards we rode the lightrail to the Gateway Mall and got dessert at Ben's Cookies. A huge orange, milk chocolate cookie mmmmm so good. A very good and uplifting way to spend a Friday night. On a completely different note I have been getting a spiritual boost. On Sunday I gave a talk on Prayer, which turned out very well, my friend Kacie even came with her husband to hear me. It has been years since the last time I gave one and apparently with age and wisdom comes even more mature talks. I have also been asked for this coming Sunday to teach the Relief Society lesson on adversity from the last General Conference talks. I have enjoyed getting to really keep my mind open for ideas and inspiration. Great way to build more character and really has made a difference in my daily life.

Ballroom and an Apostle?

I went to the BYU Ballroom Espana performance on Saturday with a friend from work. Because it is important to have to good seats we got the slightly spendier tickets and had second row seats on the floor right in front of the performers. While we were waiting for the show to start I was just looking around and noticed someone had come in who looked slightly familiar. And wouldn't you know it was L. Tom Perry of the 12 apostles! He was there with his wife and other family members. I think I stared at him for much of the time. For the most part people were not bothering him so I figured really he's just a person who also enjoys watching people dance as do I so not to bug him. Regardless though there he was sitting about 8 seats from me. Well the performance was very good and I really enjoyed it. They did all the different types of dance, my favorite of course still being the Pasa Doble. Always nice to see new and fun things, so till the next fun event...

Random Things

Well a few things have happened that I want to comment about. I absolutely enjoyed an entire weekend of General Conference. There were many talks I felt were directed at me. I especially liked the Saturday session. Too bad it doesn't occur more than twice a year. Can never get enough counsel and insight in life.

Also I am about to make another big change in my life. Well my contract job is coming to an end and I am preparing to move back to Oregon for good. I'm trying to get everything in order to make this the easiest move yet. Still on the hunt for a new job so if people will keep me in mind if they hear of anything I would appreciate it.

Other than a big move in my future there are so many possibilities that I'm looking forward to what life brings to me next!
